Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
I really would have enjoyed that video in the '70s, Patty. :)

"night can't come quick enough...my faults shine in the sun" and heard that rich tone, it was a deadly combo (no pun intended!) the Cardigan's lead singer had released it but that vocal is quite pale in comparison, imo...however good exposure for the song and writer the great cbc Concerts on Demand offer such nice recordings of so many unknown talents out there...this track is #12 http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod/concert...nr#readReviews she's matured and has new hair to go with the new release i do like that "dusty old stack of books" set dec, love it actually |

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
Why is this notable to me ? I like John Prine, and I thought it was an interesting treatment of the song :

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
I always did like this Murray McLauchlan song, so I guess I can put this video here.
Brings me back to the good old 1970's ! "Alone but never lonely, that's how I like to be." Murray M. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ow0xNy8ZWc |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
i dont remember Murray releasing any videos (to see a real music video, jessie, check out the cool Prine one rm posted...it's more than a slide show) to support any of his old singles...i dont think i've ever seen a Lunch at Allens one either (current group)...i actually had lunch there last week, good food, better beer...

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
i love many low budget videos....the last shot in this one looks like me waiting for Gord (Lightfoot, not Downie) to finally release that next compilation of rarities
after seeing this video way back when, i got myself a Mike the goldfish, complete with jar... YouTube - The Tragically Hip - New Orleans Is Sinking: . i'd like to listen to a conversation between Lightfoot and Downie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF25AyovpTE |

Well jj, Murray released at least one video that I do remember viewing a lot on Much Music in the 80's. 'Never Did Like That train'. I remember his interview on The Don Harron Show (CTV), where he told Don, for that video he was chased by police cars they had rented from The Littlest Hobo Productions. :) http://dinlis.homeip.net/hobo/hobostreet.gif |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
sundreme, i don't know if that link is very suitable for this site but i will say it's probably the sort of thing i should not be clicking on first in the morn... i guess by the disclaimer i was expecting some sort of disgruntled urban video where a guy exclaims a 4 letter word at some point (rather than performing one)
rm, odd but mesmerizing and creative... a fine blend of visuals and song...i had only ever heard a more uptempo version previously... there's only one beck jjo, i liked the vid!...you can tell it's dated...ya wouldnt be allowed to smoke in jail these days (or even on the property now:eek:) and the boys in blue would have tasered him i was watching early morning cbc news last weekend on rabbit ears (no, i didnt say 'wearing them', however halloween is coming!) and when i sonn after looked up, there was an episode of good ole Littlest Hobo...didnt knwo it still ran...i said to myself, 'now there's some fine Canadian acting!' lol |
Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos

I'm not a big music video fan either; but of the few that have caught my attention over the years, this is my fave. I know YOU won't like it, but others might. :)

in celebration of your grand appearance, i've found a relic that has wee glimpses of your tall Massey boyfriend:) this sample YouTube - NCN video effort, lots going on behind the scene(s) hopefully shows there can be more than meets the eye when it comes to video creation...of course it helps to start with a song...don't mind the haywire segments, the gear was acting strange, as was the mind ...and don't be a stranger |

Re: Please list/link to any of your fave music videos
Whilst I have already submitted one entry I see no rule saying that one is the maximum. only that jj intended the submissions to be of full "music video" status.I am therefore surprised that nobody has yet thought to offer what is I believe usually accepted as the first specific "music video" and the trendsetter
However there is another way of looking at the aims of this thread. which whilst nominally was fave music videos has strayed off topic bit and included some humoUrous material. In fact many of my favourite youtube items are comedy ones especially those featuring British humour and my absolute top British comedian has to be the late Peter Sellers. He was the master mimic and provided the voices of most of the odd nall characters in the ground breaking Goon Show. So to return to the music video theme here is my favourite comedy music video. In it Peter takes the urine out of not only the Beatles but also Laurence Olivier by adapting a Beatles hit to the style and delivery of Larry's Shakespearean Richard III |
