Welcome aboard mates. The Corfid.Com crew is about to set off on a 30 day luxury cruise aboard the Lightfoot Liner. Who will be there? What entertainment will we have? Will there be other stars? Will anyone fall in love? Might we run into any mishaps? What meals will we enjoy? What course will we take? Use your imagination mate and fill us in on all the glorious details.

What a time we'll all have. The evening entertainment will be Gord and the band. During the day, those who play can sit down and jam with the band. I just have one concern, though:
Will people be superstitious about anyone playing The Wreck and The Ballad of Yarmouth Castle? I know it would really stink if they weren't played, but I don't want to temp the fates either!

Great topic, CMDJ, but this needs careful thought. I'll be back. Oh boy, I cant
wait to set off on this cruise. Just off
to pack.

Rebecca 12-19-2000 04:38 PM

This is truly a great topic! I, too, will have to give it more thought, but in the meantime, I have just one suggestion. Gord and the band are probably unwilling to provide 100% of the entertainment. With this in mind, I nominate Dr. Rob Wells for the times that Gord and the band insist on resting.
Maybe we can take some recording equipment along, and then Bru can have the CD she's been asking for.
How about it, Rob?

Not superstitious about the music. But are we sailing 'round old Cape Horn or thru the Triangle?

Good idea, Heather! And can we please
make a stop over at 'Christian Island'?
Be later later ... still packing!

SilverHeels 12-19-2000 08:07 PM

Be later later? I am SO excited! That
should have read: be back later.
One more thing 2M2L has a gift for writing
parodies - he could perform at least one
during the set breaks.
Who is the Captain on this ship and how do we get to sit at his table with Gord and the band?

"I hope I never lose what belongs to me
By the right of my birth
At midnight sailing out of Perth
Getting under way we turned 'er westward bound
On that southern sea
To sea what ecstasy was worth"

In planning the itinerary, don't forget to stop and pick up the fans from down under.

We must visit Biscuit City! When do we embark on the Lightfoot Liner? Maybe Old Dan can spin some wax. Sounds like fun!

If we're going to Biscuit City, you gals know what to pack.

Me. Guess I've already got all I need !!!

We should probably go there last. Sounds like a place that would be tough to leave.

Stopovers could be fun at 'Hangdog
Hotel' but maybe we should avoid the Bermuda 'Triangle' and stay in 'Peaceful Waters' until we get to Cherokee Bend
and find ourselves 'Alberta Bound'.
When are we leaving?

SilverHeels 12-22-2000 06:45 PM

Wingdrops 12-24-2000 12:30 AM

I certainly hope this ship has not recently taken on a fine young skipper.

It's 10 degrees and getting colder when he'd soon run her up on a Boulder. Dam. I'm getting mixed up. LOL

Where's that travel agent? There's a warm wind tonight and the moon turns the tide. Let's get going! We're all assembled, awaiting a soft command. Who brought those ponies on board? I can guess who .....

A passing ship
I have found the open ocean
Give me no lip
The waves roll by as I pass on
A sunlit sea
On the first day of April
How fresh the wind
Will you miss me when I'm gone

away the time of day enroute for Christian
Island ..' (apologies GL!)

2M2L - there'll be apple pie aplenty up
on deck when the Ponyman comes to call. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

charlene 12-24-2000 12:38 PM

APPLE PIE??? LOL

Oh what a time we'll have - Jimmy, Gord and Kris! And ME!!
LOL
Char
there will be a detour after Christian Island -across Lake Ontario, up the St.Lawrence, down the east coast after visiting Jimmy's relatives in Cape Breton and on to the Caribbean!

This trip would be my "ectasy." Gord and Jimmy Buffett on the high seas. What more could anyone want for the new millenium?

After going up the St. Lawrence all the way to Gaspe (shouldn't that be down even tho it's northeast?), I don't want to hurry to tropical climates just yet. Is the ice still in the river? We can take it slowly - just for now I'd like to rest in the shade of a maple tree. Perhaps linger a bit to say Farewell Nova Scotia. We never were bothered by time. Then south to New York to pick up some perfume downtown (I remember it well). There's still time for one last glass of ale. Another lazy morning.

Another lazy morning ... the most delicious
brew ... http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif
let us travel if we choose into a land of
notions ... to good spaces in those faraway
places... and if it rains or it snows, we'll
all be safe and warm and never grow old ...
aboard the Lightfoot Liner heading for the
Sea of Tranquillity.

who's coming up on deck to watch the sunset?

Kasey 12-28-2000 12:07 PM

I will! And as we do, the piped-in music over the ship's loudspeakers will be playing "Sundown", because it's all Gord, all the time on this ship. On Saturday, it's "Saturday Clothes" day. "All the Lovely Ladies", who have found that they "Can't Depend on Love" but are on this ship known as the Gord-Love Boat still "Keepin' on Yearnin'", will ask likely men to "Sit Down, Young Stranger", thinking they are "Something Very Special" and maybe "Someone to Believe In" because they are indulging in "That Same Old Obsession". Out on deck it's a little breezy in the "Shadows" and "Cold on the Shoulder", so they head into their cabins for a little "Romance", get "A Lesson in Love", and even a little "Morning Glory". "Now and Then", it can be "As Fine as Fine Can Be"!

(Gosh, I made it sound so inviting that I have to go now, and call my travel agent! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif See you on deck!)

So where are we now on this cruise? How long
before we reach where we're heading?
come on people - let's have some involvement
here - Gord and the boys have been playing
for hours and are getting 'Restless'.

Wingdrops 01-17-2001 11:33 PM

This cruise is going nowhere fast.

Did I get on the Flying Dutchman by mistake?

What's with all this fog.
And why won't my radio work?

Don't tell me!!

Triangle ??????
