There has, at last, been some interest in the idea of a UK get together (see the
'What's all the excitement about' thread (p.2). So all your Brit lurkers, show yourselves, please. How many would be interested and willing to join in?
Before we take it any further, let's get some numbers.
I'm at SilverHeels7@aol.com

Gaby 05-23-2004 06:04 PM

OK. Who is there?

SilverHeels
Gaby
Painter
Jim Nasium
Mair?
Porter?
Frank v?
Dan O’Malley?
MajorSirJerryPending?????????................

Painter 05-23-2004 06:34 PM

I think Bru and I could add two or three possible names to the list. They don't post here, but could be interested in the get-together.

Some people join the party, and others say goodnight.

If I were to say, I might need Police protection. Even be put on Witness Programme! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

SilverHeels 05-25-2004 05:45 AM

For all of you who are really interested in this event: Al has 'offered' to make enquiries about a suitable venue near to his home (a pretty village close to Preston).
How many would be willing to make the trip ?
We could plan it over a weekend, fit in some sightseeing of surrounding areas like the Lakes and Chester and Blackpool? With jam sessions to be arranged?
Please register your genuine interest before we move on to the next step. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

I stayed there in September 2002 - it is BEAUTIFUL and the perfect setting for a Lighthead gathering!!! Just make sure no one gets "my cottage" Alan http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

As much as I'd really love to go, I need to start saving my vacation time for when a certain someone crosses the pond to visit San Diego next year http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif

Hello to all of you in the U.K.! I hope you all get a chance to meet - sounds like you will! Wish I could be there! Do any of you know of any retail stores that do not have HARMONY stocked? Obviously, it would be easier to ask multiple store "chains" to add it to their inventory. Would it be easier if the CD has more airplay? If so, I know several of you are calling/emailing stations, but could I help in any way? Are there many internet stations tha would take requests from "across the pond?"

Let's try and make it an annual event. Maybe next year we could do it in Ireland. The boys have always offered their hospitality.

John,
you are most welcome. The locale will probably be in the Preston area or thereabouts and so far no time as been set.
But it will be over a weekend. Stay in touch by emailing me direct. Thanks.

Andy needs to check this out too he's homesick for Gord country. The previous post as you found out was for another of the Gord lonely Brits. Sounds like you have a large group out there Silverheels.

It's starting to look pretty healthy, Brink.
If all Gord-Brit fans would like to email me direct at Silverheels7@aol.com, we could really start to plan in earnest.
Let's hear from you guys!

Mal B 07-11-2004 05:31 PM

Thanks Brink.
Sounds like a great idea but September might be difficult for me.
However I will be at the Fylde festival in Fleetwood 3/4/5 Sept doing my bit to keep GL's music in the public domain! Anyone else going?
I shall watch this space with interest.
Regards to all.
