Thank you hiway songs,
I hope you had a great time. :D |
Interesting--looks like a couple of drinking songs are back in the mix (Hangdog Hotel Room and Blackberry Wine)--a couple of real good ones ("toe-tappers", in GL's lexicon). How did the man look and sound?

It was a great concert! unfortunatly we were late getting tickets and had to sit near the back, so as for how he looked, me old eyes can't say, but he sounded great! talked a lot to the audience. Generally the feeling in the air was good and the audience was, as usual very appreciative of the old standards such as IYCRMM, Sundown and Carefree Highway.
We've seen him several times in Vegas, at the Orleans and this was a totally different venue, so the feel was very different. Hummmm I think the Vegas shows are more reserved (everyone is hanging on his every word and singing along) and this was more like a concert with people walking over to the bar for a beer or three and shuffling of seats and such.... and perhaps the crowd (at least in the back) were not as much into his music as they are in Vegas. But we stayed across from the venue and could hear them warming up thru our window before the concert, which was a real treat and rather made the night for us. |

Sounds like you had a great night, hiway songs. Hearing them warming up before the concert, from the comfort of your hotel room no less, would have made my night too.
