Has anyone who is a guitarist sat down and played along to a Gord song? I think it'd make good practice. Then again, it may not, I would not know, I do not know how to play.

Yes, I think most of us play along with Gord CDs. One of my favorite things to do is to pop the Reno video in, grab a guitar and play along. Cathy |
I'll bet the entire 'If You Could Read My Mind' album would be a great CD because just about all of the songs are easy to play (I think)

Many of them are picked Travis style, which isn't easy to learn if you're just starting out. As an example, listen to the guitar in Sit Down Young Stranger. That's Travis picking at its best. If you're thinking about learning to play, you should start with a strumming song, like The Wreck, Alberta Bound, Summertime Dream or The House You Live In. Considering how much you love Gord's songs, you really should think about learning the guitar. It's a great hobby, and think how much you'd impress the girls if you sang a nice Lightfoot tune to them. You'd have to beat them away with a stick, just to get through your door! My youngest son sang If You Could Read My Mind during Junior Exibition and made his old girlfriend cry. Well, actually, she's not his old girlfriend now. She's his new old girlfriend. They are back together... again... Cathy ------------------ Cathy Visit my website at http://www.cathycowette.com |
