For the first set, Gordon wore a black short-sleeved "Gordon Lightfoot t-shirt" with a 3- or 4-inch yellow "smiley face" on the upper chest area. The shirt was black except for small white letters on the sleeve saying "Gordon Lightfoot." During a quick break between songs, he mentioned that his 7 year old daughter insisted that he wear the smiley face on his shirt. A lovely gentleman from Tennessee sitting behind me was a huge fan of GL, and he kindly let me borrow his binoculars for several songs (Why I didn't bring mine to stare at MY man, I don't know. -- Sorry, ladies. You'll have to share him. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif ). Any way, I could not tell if the smiley face was a pin or a transfer. It looked quite flat as if it were a part of the shirt.

Also, while Gordon had his back turned to the audience to get a drink from his water bottle, I couldn't resist and had to let THE MAN know how much we all appreciated him and his music. The theater was totally silent while he reached for his water, and I very clearly yelled, "Gordon, we love you!" Trust me. It was quite audible. Much of the theater started to applaud. I think it also made Gordon feel welcome. He seemed to talk more to the audience than I've seen him do in a few past concerts. Of course, I am not speaking from as much concert experience as so many of you. Just thought I'd share these little tid bits with other GL lovers.
