Shortly after the release of "Endless Wire", my ex-wife adopted a near-feral cat that she named Katy. Reading the review of the album in Rolling Stone magazine, the critic had something like this to say about the song "Daylight Katy": He may as well have been writing about a cat. I always liked the song, but the images first evoked by the music were soon replaced by the reviewer's words. |
There was a theory on this board a year or two ago that Daylight Katy was indeed a cat. If you visualize it while listening to the song, it's feasible.

I first heard the song "On The High Seas" in concert, but at the time his was singing "On The T.V.". When the album was released, I just attributed the confusion to my poor hearing.

Don't know about Daylight Katy, but there was a girl in college I called "Midnight Julie."
