Liona Boyd has always been one of my favorite classical guitarist. I read somewhere that she use to be an opening act for some of Gordon Lightfoot's concerts and that she was awarded some Juno awards herself. Did anyone here ever see a Gord show with Liona? I did see her perform alone at a local university but think it would have been awesome to see a show with Gord and Liona. Randy

Back in the late 70's, when Gord toured through the Northeast, Liona was his opening act at the concerts I attended. I was very impressed with her, but I often wondered why he chose a classical guitarist to open for him. They seemed to respect each other as they would often mention each other in their sets, but never performed together that I remembered. A couple of years later I came across her Christmas album and bought it.

Is she still performing/recording Lil? What cd would you recommend? Thanks for a reason to travel down memory lane. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

My favorite Album of Liona's is THE ROMANTIC GUITAR, However I've had a hard time finding her material on CD's,maybe this new web site Char gave us will help. Thanks for sharing your memory of Liona and Gordon in concert, I just wondered about this because I read it I think on one of Liona's album inserts somewhere. I studied from her guitar books for a few years.I bet Gordon and her had a blast sharing guitar stories.Gordon did attend Juliard at one time so he is an excellent guitarist . RANDY
