In 1987, Gordon made his television debut as an actor, on ABC's Hotel. Following the movie 'Harry Tracy", which he did years before. What was his character's 'name' on Hotel, he played a Country Singer just off the booze, making a comeback. And what was the name of the young actor, who played his son named, "Mark". (Two Parter), as I feel the first one is relatively easy... :) :( [ May 23, 2006, 05:31: Message edited by: Jessi -Joe ] |
Lightfoot played Joe Daniels and Matthew Laborteaux played his son, Mark.

Great job Janice, you are correct. Matthew Laborteaux played on Little House On the Prairie I knew that one. No help from Borderstone.
Now Janice or anyone else feel free to post one... If not I will post another one. [ May 21, 2006, 17:44: Message edited by: Jessi -Joe ] |
Bravo to Janice # 44 The answer was Joe Daniels, and Matthew Laborteaux...

http://www.canadians.ca/celebs/gordo...foot-slide.jpg :) WHEN DON HARRON INTERVIEWED GORD IN AROUND 1980, GORD TOLD HIM THAT CANADIAN MUSICIANS SHARE CHART POSSESIONS WITH NOT ONLY CANADIANS ACTS , BUT ACTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. HE SAID "ONE ACT THAT I MOVED OUT OF FIRST PLACE ONCE WAS ?? AND I DID IT WITH SUNDOWN HE DROP TO NUMBER 2 AND I DROP IN AT NUMBER 1...SO IT CAN HAPPEN". WHO WAS THE ENTERTAINER THAT LIGHTFOOT WAS TALKING ABOUT? HE ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS CASHBOX, AND BIILBOARD MAGAZINE. "IM NOT TALKING ABOUT NUMBER 1 FROM LETHBRIDGE ALBERTA HERE.".. :D [ May 21, 2006, 18:16: Message edited by: Jessi -Joe ] |

from a site at:- http://www.geocities.com/cstuff84/number1s.html listing "Number One Singles of the 1970s" Source: Billboard magazine, listed in chronological order Scroll down to 1974:- http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/3...berones6jr.jpg To be fair my memory did indicate that it was somebody rather more famous than Bo Donaldson,I had thought maybe Rod Stewart but I cheated, googled and found the above listing along the way I dropped on on:- http://www.superseventies.com/sw_sundown.html which has a good bio of Gord and this captioned picture on display http://www.superseventies.com/sw_sundown.gif JohnFowles Now Homer be a good chap and apologise profusely to Zoneranger!! |
No John, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods is not the correct answer. Read the quiz question carefully.

Oh~I know this one! :D In June,1974 (the week of my 6th B-day) Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods',"Billy,D.B.A.H." knocked Paul M. & Wings,"Band On The Run" out of the top spot.
Then Gordon went to #1 the last full week of June then came,"Rock The Boat" by Hues Corporation the week of July 4th. ;) All 4 of those songs by the way,are some of the first songs I ever honestly heard. |
According to several sources on the 'net, Sundown was released in May of 1974. Here's a copy of what I found:

I could not find a better photo of Gord as Morey Nathan. Rather didn't have the time. Probably someone like our Sir John will post one? I hope so anyway. :) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...an_thicke2.jpg Quiz? Alan Thicke interviewed Gordon Lightfoot when they were filming, 'Harry Tracy'. Gordon was wearing his Marshall, Morey Nathan costume, for the movie. And Alan told him I know you packing a pistol here. And Gord got the gun out to show to Thicke, and he told him how many times he gets to fire the gun in the movie... So thats the Question. How many times did Gordon shoot the gun in the movie? {A} Once {B} Five times {C} Nine times {D} Twenty-two times {E} Never fires the gun. Good Luck to everyone who participates. :) :D  [ May 27, 2006, 15:57: Message edited by: Jessi -Joe ] |
No one tried the quiz, so its still there.

I only saw the movie once and the only thing I remember is perhaps him (GL) shoot at Bruce Dern when he made a break near the railroad tracks. I'm totally guessing here... I'll say choice B. Weren't some guns six-shooters? He wouldn't have had time to reload in a quick gun battle and once would have been silly. Perhaps his gun jammed for bullet number six...

Its a good logical guess Sheryl, but no tomato. Sorry! :(

I'm pretty sure he didn't fire at all.
I've only watched my DVD twice (to keep it good) and it's not really a thing I paid attention too. |
Yes, Borderstone, but it's the Alan Thicke interview that would have given you the answer. But your right. Felicitation Borderstone :)
