I would have to agree with the poster who figures Gordy is pretty well done for this year as far as touring goes. As far as his new CD he was gonna finish off in the next month for release early 2003, I would be looking at late 2003 or 2004 now. If he puts it out at all.

We've waited almost 5 years now for a new CD so another year isn't gonna hurt. As everybody keeps saying let's all hope this doesn't put him in retirement.

I'm actually glad to hear this and was expecting it all along. This is a major illness for which he's still hospitalized. Having had a life-threatening event and surgery myself this year, and being 20 years younger than Gord, I've learned just how long it takes to recover from a major setback. It's been 5 months for me, and although getting better all the time and working, can't imagine the energy it takes to tour and perform. It's a major drain for me to even make it through work still. And despite all advice from everyone, we tend to push it which definitely makes the healing process longer and results in other complications from a weakend immune system. So I feel bad for all the people who have concert tickets, but was hoping Gord would kick back, stay loose, and spend some lazy mornings recuperating. And I wouldn't doubt that he uses the time to tinker with writing some new songs. Now that would be some good medicine for everyone...
