OOOOOWWWWWW!!!!! Wow is right. 20 years in the making. Ever since CD's were first introduced on the market, I've been checking the bins for these two albums. I had been holding on to the vinyl LP's and had taped them on cassette not having a turntable for many years. Well, I continued my routine of fingering the Lightfoot section whenever I pass by and what a phreaking surprise. Yippeeeee! I'm bound for Buhammma. |
Here is some more info on the Final Four

I just got my Shadows and Salute CD's yesterday...aaaahhhhhhhh...life is good!!!!

all is well! just got my final two, too! "I'll Do Anything" is finally avail. on disc! what a wonderful song! if anybody here was at the INT & INT show here in Toronto a few yrs. back you might have noticed that he performed the song differently, throwing in an extra verse as a "bridge". those of u saying who cares, shame on u.
Salute" is 1derful also. my vinyl copy had this annoying little squeak towards the end of "Knotty Pine". i got so used to the sound that i 1/2 expected to hear it in concert. anyway, it's just great to finally have a complete catalogue of GL's works on disc! happy listening!! james |

[/ QUOTE] Yeah--who cares?! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif Seriously, I've also noticed that little bridge has now disappeared from when he does the song live these days. It's a pity--it was a nifty little chord exchange. I remember frantically trying to write it down when I saw him do it live. (I failed!) << Salute" is 1derful also. my vinyl copy had this annoying little squeak towards the end of "Knotty Pine". i got so used to the sound that i 1/2 expected to hear it in concert. >> That's so funny--I know what you mean. My LP of Don Quixote had this "pop" that was almost rhythmical...it came in at the end of "Ordinary Man," into "Brave Mountaineers." Even now, when I listen to CD, I still hear that "pop...click pop...pop...click pop..." in my head! Derek [This message has been edited by telekidd (edited September 01, 2002).] |
p.s. : re: Salute back cover
those white cowboy boots are wicked! wish i could afford a pair! james |

the only gripe with these reisssues is i think that there shuld have been bonus tracks on them (like outttakes). especially Two Crazy Kids on Salute - that song's a killer! collection is now complete! |
