I Live in England, and have been a fan of Gord's for 11 years now, since I was 16. I am desperate to see the great man himself perform in concert. Does anyone know of the last time Gordon performed outside of the US or Canada, and whether or not it is likely he will do again? Also, It's unlikely Gord's PBS special will be shown here. Where can I get a videotape of it?!

Hi Dan,
there are a few of us Brits on this fabulous site so welcome! Gord hasn't appeared in the UK since the early 80s and altho' we are trying to co-ordinate some kind of campaign to bring him back, we're not having too much luck - so far. Why dont you join us in Toronto next May when The Man plays the Massey. As for the video, I'll leave that for someone else to respond to - keep your fingers crossed. You may get lucky. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif Nice to have another Brit on board. |
Since Gordon Lightfoot has already toured the UK, I'd expect his next European tour to start in Vienna, Austria. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif
But all kidding aside, I really wished that Gordon Lightfoot would come back and tour in Europe again - even if it were only a UK only tour, or a few nights in a London theatre. |
Florian, I'll come to Vienna with pleasure
to see Gord perform 'live' - but in the meantime I am trying hard to get him back to the UK. I was at the Royal Albert Hall the other night and I was remembering the times I'd seen him there. In my mind's eye I saw him again, heard that beautiful voice lifting to fill that majestic arena, followed by the swell of thunderous applause. Sweet memories. I would not expect him to return to the RAH, but there are plenty of other suitable venues just waiting for him. Will he return, I wonder? |
