------- Original Message -------- Subject: [The Gordon Lightfoot Fan Club] Lightfoot song as contest clue Date: Sun, 21 Nov 2004 17:13:41 -0000 From: msambors <em859@ncf.ca> Hello all, A puzzling Gordon Lightfoot clue was used in a contest on Canadian radio and I would appreciate any help you can provide. The three clues that were provided will describe something uniquely Icelandic of Iceland). The Lightfoot clue was a snippet of "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald." Does anyone know of a connection to the country of Iceland that Gordon or the SS Edmond Fitzgerald may have? Thanks, Mark |

Thanks, Mark No, but we know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours.... Seriously, all I could think of was the sinking of the Bismarck somewhere near Iceland's shores. But when I Googled and checked dates and facts about the wreck, I couldn't find a thing that's relevant to the Ed Fitz. Sorry. Maybe Auburn Annie can come up with something. She's much better at researching these things than I am. Cathy http://www.cathycowette.com |

Thanks, Mark You mentioned that the contest used three clues, one of which was a snippet from the Edmund Fitzgerald. Perhaps you might post what the other two clues were, in addition to which lyrics from the song were used. I think this would help people come up with an answer for you. Erica |
I can post this back to the GL Fan Club. I'm just the messenger here. I don't know the other clues either.
