I dont know if any of you have seen this episode. But being a big Seinfeld fan. I have seen every shows, even the reruns still interest me very much. On one particular episode, Jerry & Elaine argue. Elaine says the singer is Edmund Fitzgerald. And Jerry says no, I think the ship is Edmund Fitzgerald, And the singer is Gordon Lightfoot. Elaine replies, the boat is Gordon Lightfoot. Anyway that's how far they go...JJ. [ June 25, 2006, 10:07: Message edited by: Jesse -Joe ] |

Oh yes,I have seen that show. :) It's somewhat humorous, that she'd make that error but overall,I found it a little ridiculous too.
C'mon..."The Wreck of The Gordon Lightfoot" ? Even someone not "that" into music knows that doesn't sound like a song title. If any of you have ever seen Ted Danson's show,"Becker". There's a character on there named Bob who one day at the diner (near Dr. Becker's office)sits and listens to the female owner's story about how much she loved her last boyfriend. She tells how they were always fighting and Bob says to her,"Geesh!...What was you two's song,"The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald"?! :D (Something like that.) |
Apparently a lot of jokes were made about THE WRECK.
I remember Roy Firestone interviewing the late great John Candy(Canadian). And John had just purchased, with Bruce McNall, and Wayne Gretzky, I beleive the Toronto Argonauts? And John was a Gordon Lightfoot fan, Roy was not. John told him, we are going to try to get Gordon to sing the National Anthem at the first game.Roy Firestone looks up to the ceiling and says, just great, then OH Canada, will sound like, and he sang it, but every line sounding like The Fitz. John Candy goes Ah come on Roy, Gord's a great singer. Not to me he's not says Firestone. I was a bit disapointed by that interview. And began to think then, I was probably the only Gordon Lightfoot fan in the world. Me and John Candy...JJ. |
