http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...3/S5030087.jpg By November 15th, I have to be able to swipe that thing in there without pulling up to make corrections if I'm to pass the driving test. :( Wish me luck. :) |
Remember what Gord says: Practice, practice.

Good Luck FA, too bad it's not a Beetle {BUG} instead if that thing as you call it. lol ~Jesse~ :D :)

What Duncan you do not have to do that with a trailer hitched on too??
Where is the skill then?? Just try not to do it this way OK?? http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/514...ghtanglzz4.jpg |
J Fowles: Actually, you have to parallel park an 18-wheeler when you go for your class A's, with the trailer and all.
And J Joe: True, it would be better in a Beetle, but those short 6-wheeler dumptrucks will turn a heck of a lot sharper than the longer 10-wheelers. Heck, they turn almost as sharp as my S10. |

Not if you have a new Lexus...

Perfect Parking, pretty good video clip Watchman.

Long ago, my grandfather was trying to teach my grandmother how to properly pull into a vertical parking place, something he had rigged up out on the farm. She drove the car through the side of the barn. That was her last attempt at driving.

What makes it so strange is that they'll probably get away with it too, unless it won't park in a space made of cones. |
Very true F Away. I never thought I would see the day when a car could parallel park itself, without any input from the driver. That car must have infared sensors out the wazoo.
|
My mom's car did a pretty good job of parallel parking itself...with only a little tap on the gas and brake...when I got my license way back when. It was January in Northern Indiana with piles of snow and lots of ice on the ground. The new-driver-tester announced that 'we' would now park in between two cars that were parked on the street. I knew instantly that I was about to flunk the exam! I lined up all wrong and so was slowly pulling forward when all of a sudden...presto!...the car slid sideways right into the spot  Two very stunned people were now sitting, in a perfectly parallel parked car, on the front seat of my mom's car. Getting out of it was going to be a challenge but getting in was all that mattered! I got my license!! Can I parallel park today? Only if I have at least 3 empty car lengths to work with!!

So Doug how's the parking coming along, when's the test ?
