Gord meets the fans.

This is for the newbies who might have never seen it. I know it was posted before. You can see Corfidian Gord H, at the beginning. It is pretty special... :)

What A Guy !

Gordon sure is pleasant and patient with the fans. That's great, considering he's just played a full concert, had a long day, must be tired and eager to get home.

So odd to hear Barry's voice in the background. Made me sad.

I think it was a Monte Carlo? I was amazed that he just stepped out of Massey Hall, walked into his car and drove home LOL.

You only have to watch Hockey Players or other sports {"Stars"} not all of them, but a pretty good bunch. They walk past the youngsters who are there eager to get autographs of their fav players. Those big egos dont even look at the youngster, they have a pen and sign away a few marks as far as Im concern, on whatever the kid is holding in his hands. They make me sick with their BIG salaries.

Gord is a good example of what a man of his immense talent should be. NO show-off here, a classy guy all the way. That's one reason why he is loved by so many... :)

I know he's nice and all that, but when I was talking to this one lady at this concert, I said I wonder how some people meet him and she said he must be so sick of people. When I mentioned this discussion forum, she looked like she thought it was really weird.

Well Patti,

You have to admit - at times it is a little weird around here, LOL.

Bill :)

If he was sick of people he wouldn't be doing what he does and has done for decades..which is to entertain us and then thank us by being accessible to say hello and speak with him and afford US a chance to thank him.

And yes Bill - it does..
;)

Just a little. I didn't agree with that lady. She semed thoughtful in a way. (Unlike me -lol). She was especially impressed with 'Sit Down Young Stranger' because it was a request and she thought he probably hadn't been practicing that one lately. Lots of other people were yelling out requests, and someone said - Anything you want, and he said That's what I like to hear.

The meat and greet isn't part of the job requirement, is it? :)

Re: Gord meets the fans.

I would think not Patti, it all depends with the performer(s). Thats why Lightfoot is such a great guy. Willie Nelson came out on stage after his concert, sat down at the edge of the stage and signed away until there was no one left. Bob Dylan on the other hand is another thing, very difficult to get to him. :)

awwwwwwwww a little correction here, I feel so badly to have forgotten to mention the 1st performer I ever met and got an autograph from....the wonderful Rex Trailer!

Rex Trailer...the star of the TV show, Boomtown (aired in New England) was my first idol :) and still is. My mother took me to meet him and Sgt. Billy at Indian Ranch when I was 4 (same age I became a Gordon Lightfoot fan too!).

Had to plead with my mom to let Sgt. Billy put me on Goldrush. Don't know why she was afraid to have me sit on Goldrush, but it was the 1st time I was ever on a horse.

I cherished the autographed photos I had of Rex and Goldrush and one of Sgt. Billy...no clue what ever happened to them :(.

Boom, BOOM, BOOMTOWN..YeeHah!

Hey cousin,

That's a good looking Site. Never heard of the guy but he seems to be pretty special in what it is that he does (did). :)

Sounds like a nice memory of a nice day.
Glad you didn't go to that bash. I wouldn't have either.
