maybe a little different ?
For all our friends in the greater Toronto area who might be free on Tuesday the Counting Crows are playing at the Molson Amphitheatre on Tuesday.
What the ? Yeah well maybe a little alternative, but what a group. And for those of you around the world they're on tour through December. Last night I took my wife and daughter and Sara Bareilles opened the show. Great up and coming talent. The co-headliners, Maroon 5, were up next and tore the house down. I know, I know - but you'd have to see them live. (For the encore they did Rockin' In The Free World - shocked their hardcore fans, LOL). Counting Crows closed the show (they alternate each night) and I would have paid twice the price if I knew how it was going to go in advance. My ears are still ringing but I'm a happy camper. We all have our little diversity issues. Thank you for letting me share, LOL. Bill :) Here's a couple pics if you figured I must be pulling your leg. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ust2008141.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ust2008168.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ust2008106.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ust2008003.jpg |
Re: maybe a little different ?
BILLW,
Reminds me of my 40th birthday show in 1998. After a Saturday of Canoeing on Lake Dillon, in Frisco, Colorado, home of the Nation's Highest Yacht Club - at just under 10,000 feet.....hew boy...my my..lol. I was down at the other end of the Lake - the 'commoners' end lol, with calm, flat unroiled-by-45 ft Egg Harbours and Chris-Crafts flying-bridge monsters...water, and Elephant Island with my Merry, and my Daughter Mamie. We followed this-up on Sunday with the perfect birthday weekend - a Lightfoot performance in an *unlikely* pairing of acts at first glance - "Phreakwater" - a breaking-thru cross between "The Red-Hot Chile Peppers" and swamp rock-style "CCR" ala John Fogerty. They, together, with Gordon, in seperate acts..lol... played the Paramount Theatre, Boulder E-Town Radio Broadcast Live show Merry took me to, and I got my canoe paddle signed there. Gord's set was IMO too short, but perhaps it was planned and accepted that way, because he played his "Biggest 6" -The 5 (biggest) Top 10 hits of the 70's, plus CRT making 6. It was great - and "Phreakwater" was a fun surprise and jolt to my almost comatose stuck-in-the-'70's music taste, Lightfoot music being the exception -I've enjoyed Lightfoot music personally from 1973 to present day, which makes 35 years. Its OTHER MUSIC i'm stuck in the 70's on lol ! Definately reminiscent, thanks BILL ! |
