North and South of the Border, and Gord
Just thought you'd like to know that I'm carrying the message south of the border (that's the U.S. border). In October I'm going to be presenting a paper on using Canadian music as a tool for learning English language and Anglo culture. It's for a TESOL (Teaching of English as a Second or Other Language) convention of English teachers (it'll be strange--I give most of my classes and presentations in Spanish, but this'll be in English) in Ixtapa, Mexico. Such a shame, they decided to hold the conference on the Pacific coast, right on the beach. I'll be doing a little overview of the history of Canadian music, but most of the hands-on exercises will have to do with "The Canadian Railroad Trilogy" and a few other Gord songs.
Just doing my best to proselytize, while getting 5 free days on the Mexican strand. Best, DQ |

Re: North and South of the Border, and Gord
hello all,
yeas, tis I... a long way off from where I have been prior to this. just trying to listen to as much Gord as I might before this world is no longer mine to embrace... age! I see you have all been busy bees! summer seems to do you all well, I must admit, except Char who is year-round excited about Gord sitings, music, concerts, etc. good to post, I pray you have all been well? haven't seen my obit, so, I'm here. you guys are still causing me to giggle. Char, how does one (educate?), tell a 22 year old about Gord music, I do hope whomever it was could listen to the music and read the lyrics. through your eyes it would be a very good journey. sir John, always watchful aren't you? ah--lert |
