Peewee is Back.....
 

Just wanted to say hi to everyone...It has been a very hectic couple years & I made the decision to take early retirement 6 weeks ago from Rogers Media after 16 years....a slight turn in the road many years ago after leaving Gord, that was needed....It was a great career & never left playing....just got off the road to be with my young family at the time that was so important...I now have 2 beautiful little Grand Daughters & have been married 34 years this May...where has the time gone...Well, it's back to the dark side...playing music full time again...have been touring with George Canyon & cut his new cd & lots of other artists...having so much fun...this is what I was put on the planet to do....Got a chance to meet Char & her daughter & got them back stage at a George Canyon show a month ago...was so great to meet them finally....you can check out our travels & stuff going on @ www.georgecanyon.com I had 14 great years with Gord & he taught me so much, our families of little ones grew up over the years & they are all still family...had a chance to meet so many fans in our world tours that I will cherish forever....Should write a book some day...so many great memories....Just wanted to say hi to everyone & wish all the best....Peewee www.myspace.com/peeweecharles

hope you're enjoying these few days off before heading out on the Alan Jackson tour. I sure wish you were playing some dates around here with Alan. You and George and the rest of the band were fabulous and Lisa and I really appreciate the generosity you and George showed us..and the tour of the bus too!
I still can't believe you sleep in that small, floor level bunk.
I see on Goerge's tour link you guys will be at the Opera House in Orillia on December 2nd. Should be fun playing in the old boss's auditorium!

It was wonderful meeting you and I hope to see you in the new year when we see what venues you'll be at.
My cousin in Nova Scotia is hoping to get to the Halifax concert..

Hi Peewee,

Boy to actually write to a guy that has been so close to my (musical hero) idol Gordon Lightfoot, for so many years.

You will never know how many times I have watch the 1980 'Olympic Tribute' program Lightfoot & you guys did @ the CNE, on CBC television w/ Liona Boyd, The Good Brothers, late great Harry Chapin, & Caroll Baker.

It was the first program I recorded way back when VCR's was starting to be in households. Gord not doing much TV in those days, that show was a treasure to me.

I think you are from Kitchener,Ont ? I have many relatives over there, and it is my second home.

Hope to get to see The George Canyon Christmas Concert @ The Capitol Theatre here in Moncton NB, this December, and get to shake your hand.

PS: Tell George that now Moncton has a new Arts Centre here, Wesleyan Arts Centre which seats around 2000. Many artist have already performed @ that new place including, Mr. Las Vegas... Wayne Newton !

Hoping if Lightfoot ever gets back this way, that will be where his concert will be ??

I already contacted the people of the theatre, and they would be honoUred to have Gordon Lightfoot @ their facility.

Like Cathy says please do write a book.

That sounds like something a Lightfoot fan would say after their first encounter with 'the man'.

Is it my imagination, or has our moderator become a legend in her own right ?

Steel Guitar is such an amazing instrument. Growing up, I always thought of it as primarily a country music instrument. You took it to a whole new place! I can still remember the first time I saw you with the guys back in Avery Fisher Hall in the seventies. We were all just mezmorized by the sound you brought to Gord's music (unique and magical). Glad you are out there making great music!

Thanks Peewee for all your music. I do love your stuff, I play the national anthem every Sept 11th. I find it haunting.

I'll have to watch your current tour and see if you're heading my way!

I don't think George Canyon tours the U.S. There's so much red tape involved. I do hope he does get down your way at some time. You'll enjoy the music and meeting Poppa Pee Wee is always an event on it's own!
This is the current Canyon video: He (and Pee Wee) just shot a new one. Can't wait to see it even if Goerge and Pee Wee don't get wet..

a classy gesture in posting here following your milestone achievement of 'early retirement' (congrats on that and the many years of marriage!) and your acknowledging the overdue uniting with the Whitby dynamic duo:)

we don't expect replies or this to take the form of Q+A with PeeWee but in an earlier thread I had wondered what SW Ont station you had been with? from what you mentioned it seems like it was part of the Rogers Media but I'm not sure if that narrows it down much...just curious...I too love the anthem arrangement and feel you achieved in that recording, outstanding...all the best in what lies ahead

Nice to read your post on here, Pee Wee. Not up on George Canyon's stuff - sorry. But you were an integral part of Gord's "sound" back in those days. All the best to you.
