Turn of the decade(s) : #1 hits

Just kind of felt like marking the new decade with a look at the #1 songs of the past in the first week of January of each one. ;)

The #1 song(s) this week :

2010 - Tik Tok by Ke$ha ( Who???!! ) LOL! ( Just one of those kids born in 1987....just as I was ending high school! )

10 years ago = "Smooth"- Santana & Rob Thomas

20 years ago = "Another Day In Paradise" - Phil Collins

30 years ago = "Escape (Pina Colada Song)" -Rupert Holmes
( Went back to #1 for it's third week by knocking out "Please Don't Go" by KC & The Sunshine Band , the actual 1st #1 hit of the 80s. )

40 years ago = "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" - BJ Thomas

50 years ago = "El Paso" - Marty Robbins

60 years ago = "I Can Dream Can't I?" - The Andrews Sisters : 1950

70 years ago = "South Of The Border" Shep Fields : 1940

80 years ago = "Chant Of The Jungle" - Roy Ingraham : 1930

90 years ago = "Oh,What A Pal Was...Mary" - Henry Burr : 1920

100 years ago = "Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet" - Haydn Quartet : 1910

( According to Billboard's historical archives.)

I like the title of the 1900 song. Pretty funny guy that Arthur Collins must have been.
