Red Bank NJ Octotober 6th 2010 setlist

After traipsing over New england at the weekend it was great to see our third concert at the fairly near to or home Count Basie Theatre
Talking of Bill Basie if you like a nice bit of jazz try the feature on Oscar Peterson and the Count at:-
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/oscar/
In fact while getting to the still being renovated theater was quick getting home afterwards was not due to an extremely poorly signposted detour to miss roadworks on the vital road linking the town to the Garden State Parkway (after a half hour trying to guess where the detour was sending us we found ourselves back at the orignal road block)!!
On the way down we had played and enjoyed the fine set of twelve Lightfoot covers by Tom Granata (a.k.a "wheels") and Since 9 of those are of songs on the 5 United Artists albums I surmise that Tom like me is fonder of them than many more famiiar and later gems
Having previously met Tom once and having his picture on his CD as a reminder I soon spotted him and his very special, lovely, other half Loren. But thre was time then for only a few words before the concert began. Afterwards Tom passed me a copy of his CD to give to Gord which I did. I didn't tell Tom then that although the chances of Gord playing it are slim since Tom's phone number is on the CD artwork there is of course an outside chance that if Gord likes the arrangements which he should he just might give Tom a call!
here is the setlist:-

3.Sea Of Tranquility
4 14 Karat Gold
5 Never Too Close

what a full evening, john! i think GL will dig a good few tracks on that cd

hey, IMF as an encore...i'm not an extensive concert goer but that's new to me

seem like an appropriate rap up tune actually...based on these current reports, i'm trying to figure out what tunes have fallen off the tours of the past few years

thanks for the report

I've always wished he'd finish the concerts with either APPT or In My Fashion..

Wish I'd caught that one. The venue is only an hour away and I live south rather than north of there so would have avoided Sir John's detour. My route in does, however, cross railroad tracks right next to a commuter station so it can be slow.

That's a great place to see a show. Saw GL there in 1986.

set list specifics please....i assume he launched into rosanna...did you pull out the video camera? i'd also be interest in whether he did this all solo or with band or perhaps using backing tracks...i'd love to hear the first option as he seems to have it all, rich vocal, confident phrasings, steady groovin...that's quite an evening of entertainment, sir john! glad tom dug the GL setlist and await his further comments
