Nashville
Had a great day in Nashville, checking out Honky Tonk Row and being amazed at the huge number of Kentucky basketball fans who came here for the March Madness regionals.
Went on a tour of the Ryman Auditorium. What an amazing place! As we were wandering around looking at the memorabilia on display, who did we see also checking out the great items, but Gordon Lightfoot. Had a chance to talk for a bit and for Bev to meet him for the first time. Very much looking forward to the show tonight. Will post more when we get home on Tuesday. Brian |

Re: Nashville
Fab time indeed.
The Ryman Auditorium is an unbelievable place . . . so rich in history. Early in the show, Gord said something like, “It is an honour to be walking on these hallowed boards. This is the third time I’ve played here. Once was on Johnny Cash’s show”. I would have guessed that he would have performed there many more times over the years. Here’s the set list: Can't read my own shorthand. Slight correction to the Nashville set list: The Watchman’s Gone Sea of Tranquility All the Lovely Ladies I’d Rather Pass On A Painter Passing Through Make Way for the Lady Spanish Moss/Beautiful Much To My Surprise Cold on the Shoulder Did She Mention My Name Ribbon of Darkness Sundown intermission Pony Man Sweet Guinevere The Wreck Never Too Close Shadows Rainy Day People Let It Ride If You Could Read My Mind Restless Baby Step Back Early Morning Rain Waiting For You (encore) |
