Clouds of Loneliness
'Harmony' is an album I don't always go straight to if I want to listen to GL.
My first choice is always 'Old Dan's Records.' Recently I was listening to some GL songs through my audio streamer and selected 'Clouds of Loneliness' at random. What a superb song. For me, it's the best song on the 'Harmony' album. |

I like that one too Martyn. Gord has played it at the last few shows I've attended. I also like Sometimes I Wish from Harmony.

Hey Martyn,
I know what you mean about not heading straight for Harmony but when I do remember it I enjoy it quite a bit. NO HOTEL is pretty cool and River Of Light is a very nice tune. I do lean towards listening to albums in their entirety but not always. Peace, Bill :) |

I, too, tend to play albums in their entirety. The only one I don't is ' A Painter Passing Through.' When I first heard it, it was so different, for me at least. After 'Waiting for You' it, frankly, came as a disappointment. OK, I've modified my view but it still the least played GL album. I can't get hold of 'Uncle Toad Said' and 'Ringneck Loon.' I do like 'I used to be a Country Singer' & 'Red Velvet.' Of course, they weren't written by Gord. My outstanding track is 'Much to my Surprise' without a doubt... Martyn. |
Re: Clouds of Loneliness
i agree with River of light as best toon on that album. if Jeff Lynne was twiddling the knobs, it could have been a Traveling Wilburys song
