I can't help you much on the album thing, it just depends on what you want to hear. I would suggest, if you can, to buy the Songbook It is a four disc set and ha tons of stuff and even some previously unreleased tunes.
As far as his singing voice my favorite time period is the 70's. Of course, there are songs in the other decades that I really like. But I like the IYCRMM and Sundown time best. Of the two albums you mentioned I like Cold on the Shoulder best. But there are some great ones on DQ (I am known here as not a fan of DQ). But welcome, we can never have too many fans!
