Gordon Lighfoot came over yesterday to visit and play his guitar. Ann Liebold phoned on Sunday and said Gordon would be passing through and wanted to know if I was still interested in a "private concert" for myself and my family.
He arrived in a Cessna Citation at our county airport and cell phoned me. I immediately picked him up and we went to my home for a BBQ. Gord complimented me on my ability to grill a New York Strip and asked for a second helping of my wife's potato salad.
After a few rounds of chasing my kid's around the yard, Gord went to his guitar case and began strumming a few strings.
He paused briefly, to tune his instrument and clear his voice.
As if the angel's from heaven had sent him,
he began an "unplugged version" of Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I was blown away by
the harmony and beauty of his voice and guitar and then I realized it was all JUST A DREAM !! Happy April Fool's Day Everyone!
How I wish this was true, but alas; that is the reason the good Lord gave us all an imagination!
