Maybe there's a reasonable explanation for the fade-out. What is it's origin? Was it a requirement for early radio, so DJs would know when a song was ending?

Needless to say, the more an artist utilizes true endings on their material, the more respect they get from me.

My favorite new album is SO MUCH FOR THE CITY, by The Thrills, and if I'm not mistaken, not one of those tunes fades out. God bless them, one and all!



Hmmm. I wonder how Gord feels about it? He did, after all, write a song about it... "Fading away... I'm fading away... I'm fading......"
