Sorry, guess I could've added that info. There were two women sitting up in a booth with the stage on a screen behind them. When GL finished they commented on the standing ovation he was getting and the response of the crowd. One of them said something about GL being one of Cananda's greates songwriters. I think she may have used the term legend or icon. One said something about how special it is to see him perform live. Right before the commercial, one of them said she'd read or heard (can't remember which) a discussion about selecting a poet laureate for Canada and as she heard this discussion she said to herself -- hey, I know every word of CRT, we have a poet laureate in Gordon Lightfoot. (I'm really paraphrasing here but I think this is the gist of what they said. My impression is that GL got a more enthusiastic response after he performed than many of the other performers but I really didn't pay as close attention to the others. I was sort of back and forth to the computer until GL came on. ANd of course I'm somewhat biased.)
