Three remanded over £53m depot raid

Two car dealers and a hairdresser accused of being involved in Britain's biggest ever cash heist have been remanded in custody.
John Fowler, 60, and Stuart Royle, 47, stared impassively from the dock as the case against them was outlined. With them was Royle's girlfriend, self-employed stylist Kim Shackleton, 38, who is accused of handling stolen goods from the £53 million robbery at a Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent last week.

Fowler, Royle and Shackleton are the first people to be charged in connection with the raid.
All three appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court today and, after a 90-minute hearing, were remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on March 13.
Father-of-three Fowler, of Elderden Farm, Chart Hill Road, Staplehurst, Kent, was led into court first wearing a blue sweatshirt and glasses"
