great article and follow up thoughts, thanks a bunch!

i think it's a per capita thing, there's alot of downtime in the dark, cold, winter to put the creative mind to focus..the geography and inferiority thing adds a flavour also ...i know there's tons of hidden gem writers ALL across north america and overseas but may get pressured to write to try appeal to the masses more if they want to land 'that' deal...folks who post here kno w, hear and and see these very type of artists in all pockets of the world but it's so rare something launched them to notoriety, they are more respected amongst their peers than anything

i think the climate warps the brain into a creative mode also...i imagine that global warming may dry up the well!
