Well, all well and good if 50 years is the UK law, but the law in the US (which, ironically, was changed in the 70s to make international laws standard) is lifetime of the composer plus 70 years which would move that date another 20 years into the future.

Of course there's the other part about who owns the recordings and how long that copyright lasts and at the moment I don't know the answer to that one.
