I know that pretty much all the singer songwriters of that era admired each-other.
In a PBS broadcast tribute to Harry,Bruce Springsteen came out and told a story about when he knew him.

I forget what he said but he sang one of Chapin's songs (it's been a long time since I saw the special). If Springsteen and Chapin had mututal admiration,then most likely they all did.

Note:Chapin's only other hits were "Taxi",
"W-O-L-D" (like east coast radio station call letters) and
"Sequel" which was sort of part 2 of the "Taxi" story.
