Default Re: Great new look on Wayne's Site !

Sorry to try to dampen your enthusiasm Omer but I fail to see what you are getting at
As far as I can see Wayne has merely replaced his main GL picture.
with a larger version
It is eminently possible to look wayback at earlier iterations of Wayne's cornucopial site
using the Internet Archive's wonderful "wayback machine"
(which I have just used to find old copies of corfid member fezo's own site)
I have made a snappy easy to remember short link to the wayback Machine
http://www.wayback.notlong.com
and entering http://www.lightfoot.ca produced 136 archived copies spanning from May 2001 to last July
the earliest one is at:-
http://web.archive.org/web/200105010....lightfoot.ca/

(I was so happy when Wayne replaced that odd medallion style Gordpic with a proper one (last year??)
Wayne actually first announced his new site as long ago as October 1998 see
http://www.wayne1.notlong.com
A Newsgroup thread which includes an acknowledgement from Bill Weiss who actually originally wrote up Wayne's site (using mostly the screeds of information that Wayne had acumulated in his frequently updated FAQs.
Bill concluded
"My hat is off to Wayne for his years of hard work in compiling all this
information.
I think we did Gord proud."
--Bill Weiss
A look at a May 2007 archived page using this marvellous research resource produced a stunning screenshot from
http://web.archive.org/web/200705110....lightfoot.ca/

whereas the current line up is very similar as this screenshot of the equivalent area of the current page demonstrates

Or am I missing something that revised picture has been on other pages such as the news page on Wayne's site at:-
http://www.lightfoot.ca/news.htm but only this month
I fancy it was originally from the promoter's
Icon Performing Arts web site
http://www.iconperformingarts.com/content/view/33/148/
where the "tour dates" link disappointingly takes you to Pollstar's Listing
I could not get the picture gordonlightfootcolor to open today but some time ago I succeeded and it was a huge file nearly 2MB.
Now it is a very much smaller picture filename lightfootoct.gif
which I have now saved and renamed

Here is a resized version of the earlier color picture

This has been used as the basis of a publicity postcard in New Jersey in 2005 at least
