A New Ebay thread
Yes yet another new Ebay thread!!
My earlier one was obviously getting too long and I want to highlight a great offer that mysteriously does not immediately appear if you simply search on http://ebaylightfoot.notlong.com for plain "Gordon Lightfoot"
Indeed I only found it when on a whim I checked the seller's ebay store from the link on the auction page for a vinyl copy of the Pickwick label "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face " album

And here is this great offer.............
an enterprising seller in Ohio is offering a number of copies of a ROIO (Recording Of Independant Origin) compilation CD he has entitled
"GL the Beginnings"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=010
GORDON LIGHTFOOT "BEGINNINGS" 26 Tracks - Early-Rare Item number: 200200594224
His detailed description
GORDON LIGHTFOOT - BEGINNINGS: 26 Tracks (25 by Gordon Lightfoot, 1 bonus by Richie Havens). The Two Tones "Station Breaks" and "Safety Tips" from extremely rare promotional 45 on Canadian 45 Quality; 1st 2 studio songs by The Two Tones ('Gordie' Lightfoot and Terry Whelan). Lightfoot's Chateau 45s, Fontana, Ame, Koala, Warner Bros., United Artists, and PRC ("Movin' " +2 from CN's Freight Film), and a song written by Gordon Lightfoot but one he never recorded, included here as sung by Richie Havens. All but 3 are from original vinyl sources and are very high quality sounds.
This is great as I so far only have rather low quality mp3s of the Pretty Polly/Lessons In Love single

I suspect that I have the station breaks/safety tips radio jingle somewhere which was a commercial for the Two Tones single Lessons In Love If I Remember Correctly
I do thanks to another fan already have a CD containing Ritchie's rare cover recording of a Gord song unrecorded by him
According to the "purchases" listing I was the 12th to "Buy It Now" for a total of only US$14
the first was a strange GL collector who has the ebay name davepalmer407ff2
He earlier outbid me on not just one but certainly two "Yellow Bird" Koala vinyl LPs
(you can after all only listen to one at a time!!)
If this person reads this perhaps he might comment accordingly or contact me by PM
and there are now 6 left of "Beginnings" although as a home made bootleg no doubt wfk-19489 will be making more once these have all sold out
Meanwhile first come first served of course
I also checked his on line store and spotted a rare Paul Simon vinyl album

Note for the "Sober Rodent"
(Walter) it looks like his record room has stacks of rare 45s etc
