Default Re: GL Lyrics fan(atics) fun quizzers and more !

Hey guys - I tried to answer everyone's posts, and encountered some necessary explanatory notes for new or infrequent players, so the response to ALL of your posts for Q's 121 - 126 are in two parts, first, this talkety-talk part, then second, and the post after this, are the specific clue and responses winnings, Correct Answers, a few notes where necessary etc.

This post contains a thought on a new rule if you don't mind the read thru this one, before the meat-n-potatoes in the next post. The sum total in Characters of the whole shebang in one file exceeded 10,000 characters, so here is the "first half" lol: Forgive the duplicitousness of the: Hey guys et al,
I'm too tired to edit more....You guys really nailed em....Ron I like your thought....Joveski your idea too, and welcome Oh, Linda ! Part 1:

WOW, you guys nailed this 6 ( I had a feeling we might have a few new players, so I TRIED to turn down difficuly a little, to not drive away new players; turns out it was not even CLOSE to neccesary ..lol Holy etymolgy, Batman !

You guys got them all in what is the 2nd-fastest time, I think..... though I must be very, very, very sure, or ....I could........ be wrong !

In chronological order, as timed by the cesium-A "atomic clock" in Boulder, Colorado, (but broadcast from Fort Collins by the National Bureau of Std's ) a.k.a. The People's Republic of Boulder, Colorado, where Birk's, organic foods, vegans (not just vegetarian vegans, but "veegans" [phonetically spelled here], but Vegans, from the star system Vega, who are the only ones who can afford to buy a house in Boulder, and run breeder reactors to fuel their "green" houses) , and all the above are as "commonplace there as those little , uhm, things on the end of your shoelaces are...there's a NAME for those..."... - steve looks to stage right, at the band, ala Johnny Carson, for an affirmation from the band-leader on the name of those little things on your shoelaces, who shrugs 'I don't know', and cues the drummer for a rim-shot - buh-da-bummp...for lack of something constructive....

Well we have a shut-out - players correct on 7 ! , "wrong" guesses zero...( 6correct songs as I "heard them in my head" PLUS another correct and workable song making 2 correct songs for ONE clue.

I think we need a democratic meeting of the minds on this. We've been sort of wingin' it on this. Notes below outline how we've done it in the first 1/4 or so of the game, and a note on how we've done it the latter 3/4 or so of gaming. I feel no need for having to many rules, but with the goal of having fun, we don't want anyone feeling cheated. I call for a Lightfoot Lyrics Game Summit vote-by-post-proxy establish a majority rule, cause I don't want anyone to feel cheated. So, what do you guys say to voting done on a post-by-poster basis , on who you think should "win" a given clue: "A", "B",or "C" ?, WHERE:

A: is a vote to say BOTH people win it, BOTH songs that WORK, so the facts of the lyrics are the objective and not subjective "no question about it" rule - letting Wayne's World, the "Lightfoot! site" be my question verifier as usual. Regardless of who got one that WORKS first. A.K.A a vote for "everyone with a song that WORKS CO-WINS the clue, as NOTED below. The downside on this has not happened, but there could I suppose be a rush of several jokers (all players thus far excepted) posting the right song AFTER they see someone post it first. This has NOT been a problem in this friendly game. As long as it stays friendly, we won't have that problem.

B: is a vote to say FIRST person to get the song I'd ENVISIONED wins the clue, but that presumes that no one questions the SUBJECTIVE case as I call it, which you've all been gracious enough to do so far, but I don't expect you to, especially when we run that by new players, or ones that don't "know" me...

C: is a vote for FIRST song that WORKS WINS the clue, whether I'd envisioned that one or not is the case. THIS HAS BEEN the informal rule for the latter 3/4 of our gaming so far I've been using.

NOTE: We were originally using the 'everone with a song that works CO-WINS the clue' for awhile in the first 1/4 or so of gaming.

NOTE: Then we shifted to "FIRST SONG that WORKS WINS" for the latter 3/4 or so of the game

I will abstain from voting in the interest of avoiding personal bias in the game.
I don't think its a big deal at all currently. The question just came up in the form of "hey, I thought the ambiguous case was going to be avoided" - which is a fair question, its just not practical to rule out ambiguity now that we are down to 'expert'-level ONE and TWO word clues..... that fit a couple songs frequently. So, I just want everyone to feel its fair....it came up....no biggee.
Also - if someone reads an inconsistency, or certain illogical error on my part above, speak up ! My falleth go before my Pride !! lol

I'll use that one 'one more time', this time, but I'll be looking for "Summit Meeting votes posts" lol

whats YOUR vote ?
