When Liona 1st confided in me about her condition, task specific focal dystonia nearly 2 years ago -I felt so badly for her and all her struggles to cope. Yet never once did she give up as she continued to seek help for her condition and adapt to different playing styles, work on vocals and her songwriting.
Liona is still a workaholic and never ceases to amaze me! Her new CD is wonderful and very enjoyable (and relaxing!) to listen to -very different! I am so proud of her (and Srdjan!) and all the hard work that went into the making of this CD. My part -proofreading and editing the lyrics and text for the CD...was not hard work. Nor was being an 'audience' for Liona while she rehearsed (and a photo op...attached here, from one of these times).
Through all her struggles -Liona has taken the time to encourage me with my own guitar playing (although I do not play classical music) and I decided to keep the (albeit shabby) Goya guitar I bought to resell -and not long after that, I wrote my 1st instrumental ever! And since then, Liona was kind enough to give me a set of nylon strings and re-strung the guitar for me
.
It has been an exciting time and a whirlwind of activity for Liona and Srdjan this past week -the taping/airing of the Canada AM segment on CTV AND they also filmed a segment for Entertainment Tonight...which will air sometime in the near future.
I picked Liona and Srdjan up at the county airport late yesterday afternoon and enjoyed listening of all their work and adventures! I wish them both great success with the new CD
