Re: Tommy Hunter - last show last night
Another tearjerker from our dear Charbelle.
Thanks gal.
That show always was a fav of mine. We'll miss ol Tom. Had a beer with him once in the old Edison Hotel in downtown Toronto first when I arrived from Nfld. mid sixties.
From what I recall, Lucille Star and Bob Regan (The Canadian Sweethearts) were doing a matinee show there. Their big hit was "The French Song."
Real nice tune.
The Edison was the place on Yonge street to go for a good country music show in those days. It was located right in the heart of the district where it was all happening. Steele's Tavern was close by and it was during that era Gord worked there.
Tommy Hunter went onto big and better things and garnered lots of respect in the music world over the years.
He'll be missed.
RJ.
