Default Re: Uluru (Ayers Rock) in central Australia

John,

I enjoyed that documentary "Fallout" when it screened at Melbourne's Cinema Nova a few months ago. While in Alice Springs, I photographed that memorial garden plaque and the 6-foot-high Nevil Shute "books" on the opposite wall. I packed a fly-net hat for Uluru, but the afternoons didn't get above 20degC (68degF) and there were very few flies. The Todd River was flowing a month earlier due to rain, which explains why the desert vegetation was so green when I was there.

Mende,

You're obviously finding this AFL season as riveting as I am. Port Augusta is the furthest north you've been? I guess that rules out the whole state of Queensland too. You should get out more!
