Buddy's original recordiong of That'll be the Day was recorded in 1958 in Nashville (I balieve I am right in saying it was in (Owen) Bradley's Barn with his embroyo band the Crickets but the recording company insisted on using studio musicians so the resulting disc was billed to
"Buddy Holly and the Three Tunes".
A young Gordon Lightfoot recorded there a few years later and actually used the same session guitarist (one Grady Martin).
That is today's trivial iota of trivia!!
