This is very difficult news to handle.

Ron was a wonderful man, gifted artist and a dear friend.

He and I bonded as his road manager during tour he did on the West coast of Canada at the time I lived in Vancouver and he stayed with us in our condo.

Shortly after he'd fallen ill he disclosed to me that the news from his doctor "wasn't good" but we thought and hoped and prayed that he would be fine after his operation and he told me he was "getting there" but then the cancer returned.

He was very inspired by Gordon Lightfoot and was a huge fan. He told me Gord contacted him after his operation and wished him well.

We will miss you my friend but you will live on in our lives through your music.
