So, substance abuse was a widespread problem among those who vote for grammy winners, especially in 1977 for song of the year. I suppose if the Grammy is the best they could do, Gord really doesn't deserve one. He deserves a statue, replicas of which could be awarded. Called the "Gordon", they would honor those whose talent, longevity and artistry redefine the singer-songwriter label and take music into new directions, touching hearts in places previously skirted around by less talented grammy winners who used pseudo-clever pop cliches and hooks in place of artistry.
