Although,you have to admit,it does sound like something Gordon would do,lyricaly speaking.
Musically,I think he could really doi something fresh with it if he were to cover it!
I have the Looking Glass album at home,as well as the 45 rpm and the song is also included on the 2000 Movie soundtrack of "Charlie's Angels". (Not used very effectively I feel.)
