Howdy,

Discovering a briefcase in the garage, I pried it open to reveal some old Army SGT stripes, some ditto machine copies of The Purple Shaft(a lunchtime produced, "underground" rip & tear Army humor thing we sneaked out to the masses, and a copy of Songwriter Magazine - January 1976.

This edition of the short-lived magazine featured a lengthy interview w/
Gordon Lightfoot - w/ Gord on the cover.

Does anyone recall that Magazine, run by Len Latimer and Paul Baratta, w/ a
Hollywood PO Box? This issue was their first year anniversary issue. I
only have two - the Lightfoot edition and one w/ Jimmy Webb.

The interviews are extremely well done, aimed directly at the aspiring
songwriter, and was full of encouragement. I subscribed, but never thought
to hold on to issues. So remain these two.

Gord's comments are as relevant today as 30yrs ago. I'd like to show y'all the interview, but I don't have a scanner (or for that matter) how to do it.

Anybody know anything further about Songwriter Magazine from that era? Or, perhaps, how I might put the interview in a postable form in order to share it w/ y'all?

Blessings,

The Rez
