Loved the movies - so visually rich you can watch 'em over and over and spot something new each time.
Haven't yet read the books.....

Read the books so I knew what my daughter was reading, movies are pretty cool too. Classic good vs. evil themes plus good story lines. (short answer = yes)

Yes, I have read all the books and seen the first two movies as well. Very entertaining novels and the first two films were extremely faithful to the books. I became intrigued with the Harry Potter series when 4 different adult friends independently told me the stories were so well written they could be enjoyed by adults as well as by children. I concur with that assessment. I'm looking forward to the release of the third film in the series as "The Prisoner of Azkaban" is my favorite of the first five books. For anyone interested, the third film is scheduled for release June 4.

I know that these books are easy to read but they are so long and I work so much,it quite likely would take me months to read them.

Maybe some day I will. As for the films,I'd be more comfortable watching them if I had a wife & kids of my own to share them with.

"'Til then, although I know they are great,I'll pu them on the back burner. Later!

I've been seeing commercials all over the place as a matter of fact last Sunday they televised one of the first two movies, hosted by the stars, and the ads for that mentioned the third soon to be released movie and eluded to the fact that the movie would be a major (not minor ) topic of the hosts.

Hey B, I don't have a spouse and kids to share them with and I own the first two on DVD. They are wonderful - even without your own family. You should give them a try

FYI: I have been having a problem with the "i" on my keyboard stickng - I try to catch and correct any missing, but if I overlook any, please don't think I don't know how to spell that particular word - just add the "i" and move on. Thanks.

Yes, Borderstone. I was sure that out of all the people on this site, you would like Harry Potter. You will like them once you see the movies(or I don't know you as well as I thought I did).
